Ricardo Pereira is an actor and TV presenter and he divides his career between television, theatre and cinema.

He started as an actor in 2000, in the Peter Shaffer’s play ““Real Caçada ao Sol”, under the direction of Carlos Avilez in D. Maria National Theatre, in Lisbon. In 2014 he becomes the first non-brazilian protagonist in a Rede Globo’s soup opera in “Como uma Onda”. Today he lives with his family in Rio de Janeiro.

Since 2008, Ricardo Pereira presents “Episódio Especial”, a weekly program in the Portuguese television (SIC).

He standed out with his interpretation in two winning projects of Emmy International, in the category of Best Soup Opera: “Laços de Sangue” and “Jóia Rara”.

On cinema, Ricardo had his first experience in 2001 with “Um Homem não é um Gato”, produced by SIC. In his path, the main films in which he participated was “O Milagre Segundo Salomé”; “O Crime do Padre Amaro”; “Viúva Rica Solteira Não Fica”; “Amália”; “Mistérios de Lisboa”; and the French movie “Cadences Obstinée”.

In 2010, he was Ambassador for the European Year of the Fight Against Poverty and Social Exclusion.

In 2012, he starred as a producer, in the theatre play “Um Sonho a Dois”, in which he was also starred in. In 2015 he produced, together with Luso-Brazilian Foundation, the event “Portugal no Rio”, a theatre, visual arts and music exhibition that took place in the Theatre Cidade das Artes, in Rio de Janeiro.

Ricardo won of the awards “TV7 Dias” 2014 “aTV” for Best Leading Actor, for his interpretation in “Mar Salgado”. He also won te award Talent 2015 attributed by E! Entertainment.

He received the Honorable Mention of Cotec and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Diáspora pelo Mundo, given by the former President of the Portuguese Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva. In 2018, he was honored with the title Ordem de Mérito, given by the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

He is a founder-partner of the Portuguese Cinema Academy and a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since 2013.
