Jorge Portugal is the General Director of COTEC – Associação Empresarial para a Inovação since March 2016.

Previously, he was a Consultor for Casa Civil of the President of the Portuguese Republic for the Inovation during two mandates (2007-2016).

He was also responsible for the areas of the service quality and strategical marketing in Banco Espírito Santo Group, and for the trade development and market intelligence in SONAE group.

More recently, Jorge Portugal collaborated with Agência para a Sociedade do Conhecimento (UMIC), in the elaboration of a plan for he information’s society, and later with Unidade de Coordenação da Modernização Administrativa (UCMA), as a consultor in the distribution network of public services.

Doctored in Physical-Mathematics Modelation of Geofisical Drainage, Master in Mechanical Engineer and Graduated in Mechanical Engineer for the Instituto Superior Técnico. He holds a MBA for the Nova School Business and Economics.

He is a professor in Catholica University and European University for the areas of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Internationalization, having taught for 10 years in Instituto Superior Técnico.

Jorge Portugal is a founders of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, being a member since 2012. He was honored with the Ordem Infante Dom Henrique, in 2016, by the President of the Portuguese Republic.
