{"id":473,"date":"2018-10-29T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-10-29T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diasporaportuguesa.org\/6th-annual-meeting-investment-attraction-and-portuguese-talent\/"},"modified":"2022-12-22T14:25:22","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T14:25:22","slug":"6th-annual-meeting-investment-attraction-and-portuguese-talent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.diasporaportuguesa.org\/en\/news\/6th-annual-meeting-investment-attraction-and-portuguese-talent\/","title":{"rendered":"6th Annual Meeting: Portuguese Talent and Competitiveness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Portuguese Diaspora Council will gather together on the 6th Annual Meeting to discuss the Portuguese talent and competitiveness, on December 21, at Pal\u00e1cio da Cidadela, in Cascais, between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As in previous years, members of the diaspora and the Portuguese Diaspora Counselors will gather with influential leaders of the business sector, academia, culture, decision-makers and non-governmental organizations, with the presence of the Honorary Presence of the Diaspora Council, His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic, and the Honorary Vice-President, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the opening and closing sessions.<\/p>\n<p>On the Meeting&#8217;s agenda will be presented two great challenges that, on the perspective of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, will be positioned on the medium term to the development and strategic positioning of the country on an international context.<\/p>\n<p>The first panel will discuss the theme \u201c<strong>How to\u00a0enhance\u00a0and project the Portuguese talent in Portugal?<\/strong>&#8220;, having on the base the study \u00ab<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cotecportugal.pt\/pt\/oquefazemos\/think-tank\/transforma-talento1\/transforma-talento20170821180819\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Transforma Talento Portugal 2014<\/span><\/a>\u00bb, that analyzed and diagnosed the situation of the generation and talent under-utilization in Portugal, from\u00a0where result 40 concrete action steps, and inside these the 13 selected and considered as priorities. It will be given an international perspective of what is being done on Vocational Education Training, as well as on companies on the talent capture and retention.\u00a0The speakers of this panel will be Eli Eisenberg (Technical and Vocational Education Training &#8211; TVET),\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"\/?p=1744&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ant\u00f3nio Cal\u00e7ada de S\u00e1<\/a><\/span> (Diaspora Counselor and Executive\u00a0Director at Repsol, Spain),\u00a0<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"\/?p=1717&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Alberto Carvalho<\/a><\/span>,\u00a0(Diaspora Counselor and superintendent of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, USA).<\/p>\n<p>The second panel will concern about \u201c<strong>Advantages of the context: how can Portugal <b>strengthen its competitiveness<\/b>?<\/strong>\u201d presenting the position of the Portuguese case on the \u00ab<span style=\"color: #008000;\"><a style=\"color: #008000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/reports\/the-global-competitiveness-report-2017-2018\">Global Competitiveness Report 2017-2018<\/a><\/span>\u00bb made by the World Economic Forum (42nd place among 137 analyzed countries, as well as a national perspective what is being done on the public administration reform, as well as the international perspective on private of the investor-entrepreneur and how do the companies select the countries to invest and how do they look to Portugal.
