Advisory Council Meeting | October 2024
The Portuguese Diaspora Council held its third Advisory Council meeting of 2024 on October 3rd. The meeting took place in the Sala do Futuro, located in the Town Hall of Cascais, and was attended by several members of both the Advisory Council and the Board.
During the meeting, an in-depth analysis of the ongoing projects was conducted, with updates on the progress of the Young Diaspora, Regional Hubs, and the latest developments in the Competence Centers. A review of the 2024 EurAfrican Forum was also carried out, identifying challenges for the next edition, and the valuable input of the Advisory Council was gathered regarding the 2024 EuroAmericas Forum, scheduled for December 17th and 18th.
The meeting also included discussions on strategies to strengthen institutional and business relations, promoting closer dialogue with governmental entities, and encouraging measures to attract foreign investment and enhance collaborations with prominent business organizations.
The Advisory Council, composed of a distinguished group of highly respected Portuguese entrepreneurs, reaffirmed its role as a central element in shaping the strategies of the Portuguese Diaspora Council.
The event concluded with a cocktail reception followed by a dinner at the Palácio Estoril Hotel, attended by the esteemed Vice-President of the Cascais Town Hall, Dr. Nuno Piteira Lopes.
On October 17, the Portuguese Diaspora Council held another Diaspora Conversation, featuring Dr. António Rios Amorim, President and CEO of Corticeira Amorim. Moderated by Eng. On September 21, members of the CDP’s U.S. Regional Hub attended a reception for the President of Portugal, highlighting the country’s role on the international stage and fostering networking among the Portuguese community and UN representatives.
António Calçada de Sá and members of the CDP’s Spain Regional Hub attended the 25th anniversary celebration of the Nueva Economía Fórum in Madrid, presided over by King Felipe VI, where European Council President António Costa received the Fórum Europa 2025 Award.
