The Portuguese Diaspora Council is launching this week the third season of the LusoLab podcast, now with the support of MEO. The opening episode features Ana Figueiredo, CEO of Altice Portugal and the first woman to lead a major telecommunications company in Portugal.

Com uma carreira marcada pela internacionalização – da República Dominicana à Suíça – Ana Figueiredo partilha a importância de conhecer e respeitar outras culturas, a riqueza do trabalho intergeracional e a necessidade de criar condições para que o talento floresça. Ao longo da conversa, reflete ainda sobre o valor da diversidade nas organizações, a importância da meritocracia e o papel fundamental da diáspora na afirmação do potencial português no mundo.

With a career shaped by international experience – from the Dominican Republic to Switzerland – Ana Figueiredo shares the importance of understanding and respecting different cultures, the richness of intergenerational work, and the need to create conditions for talent to thrive. Throughout the conversation, she also reflects on the value of diversity in organizations, the importance of meritocracy, and the fundamental role of the diaspora in showcasing Portugal’s potential to the world.

“We must assert ourselves as capable Portuguese,” emphasizes Ana Figueiredo, highlighting how international experience helps us recognize and appreciate Portugal’s strengths – from education and security to culture.
