Inês Ayer is a multidisciplinary designer with a holistic approach to design and problem-solving, using design as a tool to transform society. She began her academic journey at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design in 2016.

Since then, her career has developed in diverse international contexts, including Berlin, where she collaborated with Superunion, and New York, where she currently resides. Throughout her career, she has been involved in projects that combine innovation, social impact, and creativity.

In 2019, she founded Studio Ayer, an independent studio that has collaborated with 12 countries on over 80 projects. In recent years, she has focused on research for her Master’s thesis, centered on reducing neonatal mortality. This work led her to investigate maternal and neonatal health crises, particularly among BIPOC populations in the United States and in Nampula, Mozambique.

Inês Ayer has served as a Young Advisor at the Portuguese Diaspora Council since June 2025.
