Ana Maria Simões Ramalho Duarte – holds a PhD in Development Economics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (University of London). She is President of the Instituto Superior Politécnico Lusíada de Benguela (ISPLB) and a lecturer in the Department of Economic and Business Sciences at ISPLB.
She is a researcher at the Center for Studies and Scientific Research of the Catholic University of Angola (CEIC – UCAN), where she contributes to the annual Angola Economic Report produced by the Center, as well as other research activities related to her doctoral thesis (“The Real Transport System in the Post-Conflict Reconstruction: The Case Study of the Province of Benguela”). These activities have led to her participation in numerous conferences and academic meetings, as well as the production of scientific materials (articles, reports, and book chapters).
She also teaches in the Master’s program at the Lusíada University of Angola (Faculty of Economics), where she is responsible for the Advanced Microeconomics module.
Ana Duarte has been Portugal’s World Advisor since March 2025.
