André Melo is a passionate leader in business transformation, innovation, and sustainability within the real estate sector, with over two decades of international experience.

He is currently the Managing Director, UAE, for the Asset Management Business at Majid Al Futtaim, one of the Middle East’s leading shopping mall and lifestyle destination operators. As Managing Director, André combines commercial and financial accountability with a strong focus on people leadership, stakeholder management, organizational transformation, and long-term portfolio growth. 

Throughout his career, André has led highly complex businesses and portfolios, with responsibility for managing assets valued at several billion dollars and for defining, prioritising, and delivering investment programmes for those assets. His experience spans financial and operational performance, long-term value creation, capital allocation, organisational transformation, and the alignment of multidisciplinary teams around shared strategic objectives.

André holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Porto Business School, enabling him to combine strategic and commercial thinking with a practical, hands-on technical approach.

With an international background and fluency in multiple languages, he has held senior leadership positions at Sonae Sierra and Majid Al Futtaim. Across these roles, he has consistently led complex business transformations, built high-performing teams, and created sustainable value for customers, partners, and shareholders.

Currently based in Dubai, André is committed to shaping the future of the real estate industry through strong leadership, innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric asset management.

André Melo has been a Counselor in the Portuguese Diaspora Council since February 2025.
