André holds a degree in Economics from Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) and later earned a Master’s in Finance from the Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics. He is currently a candidate (2025–2026) for a Master’s in Sports Management at Universidade Europeia.
He began his professional career in 2001 in the Private Banking division of Morgan Stanley Asset Management but soon transitioned into consulting, where he worked as a strategic and financial advisor at Deloitte (2002–2004), KPMG (2004–2020), and more recently at Ernst & Young (2020–present).
Over the past 24 years, André has had the opportunity to advise large companies operating in diverse sectors — including construction, transportation and logistics, energy, and financial services — across multiple geographies. As a result of his experience and expertise, he was invited in 2011 to relocate to South Africa, and has been living abroad since then: first in Johannesburg for three years, followed by seven years in Maputo, Mozambique, and the past five years between Dubai (UAE) and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
André is a strong advocate for an economic model based on free enterprise and a developed, yet regulated, capital market. He focuses on building bridges and partnerships between clients and investors, aiming to develop projects and facilitate successful transactions. In his free time, he is an avid sportsman, particularly in marathons, ultramarathons, and other endurance events.
André Olivença has been Portugal’s World Advisor since May 2025.
