Carlos Silva Lopes is a professional with over three decades of international experience in leadership, strategic marketing, and business transformation — having made his mark across various geographies and sectors.

He began his career in Portuguese companies, including Vicaima, before joining Dow Portugal in 1990, in the Building Solutions area. This marked the beginning of a remarkable global journey.

In 1995, he took on a role in South Africa as Market Development Director. He then moved to Germany (1997) as Marketing Manager, and to Switzerland (2000) as Marketing Education Leader.

Throughout his career, he has led high-impact projects in diverse areas, from Specialty Chemicals to Home & Personal Care, including the creation of new business models and value-added propositions.

His last position at Dow was Global Marketing and Customer Experience Director in the company’s largest business division – Packaging & Specialty Plastics – a role he held until November 2023, with a strong focus on digital transformation and customer-driven innovation.

He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from ISEL, executive education in Industrial Marketing Strategy from INSEAD (Paris), and an MBA from IMD in Switzerland.

Currently, he is a founder, investor, and non-executive board member in several ventures and companies. He is also one of the founding members of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, actively contributing to strengthening the connection between Portugal and its global talent network.
