David Pereira de Castro is a PhD candidate in International Political Economy at Copenhagen Business School and a co-founder of Phibon, a consultancy operating at the intersection of governance, innovation, and sustainability. His work focuses on how the world’s largest multinational companies influence the global economy, with an emphasis on transparency, corporate responsibility, and digital transition.

In parallel, he serves as President of SPOT Nordic, an association representing Portuguese researchers and professionals in the Nordic countries. In this role, he collaborates with the Portuguese Embassies in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, promoting scientific cooperation and institutional dialogue between skilled Portuguese communities and local organizations. He has also contributed to awarding research grants to Portuguese scholars visiting the Nordic countries, providing over €24,000 in direct support for academic mobility.

Under his leadership, SPOT Nordic has strengthened connections between Portuguese companies in the region and Nordic companies with ties to Portugal, creating spaces for dialogue at the intersection of knowledge, business, and scientific diplomacy. In recent years, David Pereira de Castro has participated in international forums and debates and engaged with media in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, and Portugal, helping to raise the profile of the new generation of Portuguese professionals abroad.

David Pereira de Castro has been a Young Advisor at the Portuguese Diaspora Council since December 2025.
