Diana Mota Marouco is a Senior Medical Writer at OPEN Health Communications, a multinational scientific communications company, working remotely from Kuwait. She began her career as a medical writer at Springer Nature in London and has extensive experience in medical communications, collaborating with various pharmaceutical industry clients (AstraZeneca, Merck, Novo Nordisk, GSK, Eli Lilly), specializing in supporting the development of scientific publications and communication strategies.

She is also co-founder and Scientific Director of Synapse Scientific, a scientific consulting firm based in Kuwait that aims to promote scientific communication in the health and biotechnology sectors in the region.

She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Leicester, UK, and has conducted research in cancer biology. She previously earned a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Lisbon and a Master’s in Cancer Molecular Biology from the University of Leicester.
