Diana Oliveira has over 15 years of experience in the financial sector, with an international career spanning Portugal, London, and currently, New York.

She completed her secondary education at Colégio Luso-Francês in Porto and earned a degree in Economics from the School of Economics and Management at the University of Porto (FEP). After completing several internships at banking institutions in northern Portugal, she decided to pursue further studies in London, where she earned a Master’s in Investment Management from CASS Business School. During this time, she was awarded a Santander scholarship and received a symbolic distinction—a single share of the bank—personally handed to her by António Horta Osório, then CEO of Santander Abbey, in recognition of her academic performance.

She completed business school at the height of the 2008 financial crisis, which naturally led her into the world of derivatives, as markets were focused on addressing the impact of the subprime collapse. Diana began her career as an account manager for asset managers trading instruments such as IRS, CDS, and equity swaps. This direct exposure to the buy-side opened the door to a role at Deutsche Bank in the clearing brokerage division, where she continued to work with institutional clients.

She later joined the mutual and hedge fund division at Deutsche Bank, where she led a trade support team and worked closely with traders and structurers on the creation and structuring of financial products. Two years later, she was invited to lead the trade support team for the Synthetic Equity desk in New York — a challenge she accepted, which brought her to the U.S., where she has now lived for over seven and a half years.

Three years ago, she embarked on a new phase in her career in Enterprise Risk Management, applying her broad market and product knowledge to manage operational, reputational, and strategic risk. She currently serves as Vice President, Enterprise Risk Lead Manager at Deutsche Bank in New York.
