Francisco Henriques was born in Zambujal, in the municipality of Ourém. He is married to a French national, and together they have two daughters, aged 13 and 14, both holding dual citizenship.


He completed his secondary education at Colégio de São Miguel in Fátima and, in 1989, enrolled at ISEG – Lisbon School of Economics and Management, where he earned a degree in Management in 1994. During his studies, he also participated in the Erasmus programme in Reims, France, completing a dual degree through a partnership between CESEM and NEOMA Business School.


In 1994, he was invited by the Roederer Group to join Adriano Ramos Pinto in Vila Nova de Gaia as a financial controller. After two years, he moved to Bordeaux to pursue a master’s degree with a specialization in Wine and Vineyard Law at the University of Bordeaux Montesquieu.


Upon returning to Portugal, he rejoined Ramos Pinto for another two years, followed by a role within the Amorim Group (Porto Burmester and Barrancarnes).
From 2003 to 2008, he served as General Manager of Adega de Borba, where he led the professionalization of the cooperative’s management and successfully expanded its sales into several international markets.
 
Since 2008, Francisco has been based in China, where he serves as CEO of CWS – China Wines and Spirits Ltd, a company within the French-based ELAN Group, of which he is also an investor.


Francisco Henriques has been Portugal’s World Advisor since may 2025.
