João is a seasoned Regional Construction Director with over 35 years of experience in the Canadian petrochemical construction industry and global markets. Renowned for his expertise in direct field labor and contract management on power, mining, and refining projects. João has successfully led initiatives across Canada, the United States, and Fluor’s Europe, Africa, and Middle East (EAME) operations based in Amsterdam. João brings a global perspective and adaptive leadership to every project.

Specializing in constructability reviews, front-end analysis, planning, estimating, and sub-trade management, João ensures project designs align with efficient, safe construction strategies from inception to execution. His portfolio includes managing multi-billion-dollar projects such as the $19 billion LNG Canada Project, Canada’s largest private investment, and large-scale oil sands developments like Kearl Initial Development and the Suncor Project.

João’s leadership extends beyond construction sites, he’s passionate about building relationships, supporting career development, and ensuring the success of the people and communities he works with.
