João Martins is currently President of the Executive Committee and CEO of Millennium BIM, a position he has held since April 2023. Previously, from 2011 to March 2023, João Martins was the CFO of Millennium BIM.

With a degree in Economics from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and a Master in Finance from London Business School, João Martins accumulates a vast international experience in the financial sector.

He started his career in the financial sector in 1990, at Banco Santander de Negócios, where he worked as Equity Research Coordinator from 1994 to 2000 and later as Director of the Equity Derivatives Department of Banco Mello de Investimentos. He has been working with Millennium BCP Group since 2000, first as Director of the Derivatives Division and, later, in 2006, he became CFO of Banco Millennium Turkey, being appointed CEO in 2009.

João Martins is also Non-Executive Director in Seguradora Internacional de Mozambique, SA (Millennium Seguros) since 2011 and in Fidelidade Moçambique – Companhia de Seguros SA, SA (Millennium Seguros) since 2022.

João Martins has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since July 2023.
