João Pedro dos Santos Lopes is a civil engineer with a Master’s in Construction Industry Management and over 20 years of experience in construction and real estate projects across Europe and the Middle East. Since September 2022, he has served as CEO of AMA Group in Bahrain, leading approximately 3,000 employees across sectors including construction, building materials, petrochemicals, and retail, managing large-scale projects such as oil & gas field expansions and the development of major residential and commercial mega-projects.
Between 2020 and 2022, he was Construction Director at Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, overseeing real estate projects worth €4 billion across European cities, including Hamburg and Paris, and actively contributing to the Better Places 2030 sustainability program. From 2012 to 2020, he served as CEO and Board Member of the Martifer Group, managing operations in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, with notable projects including Al Faisaliah Mall and KAPSARC in Riyadh.
From 2006 to 2012, at Chamartin Real Estate, he led investments and construction projects such as Dolce Vita Tejo Shopping Center, La Gran Manzana (Madrid), and Dolce Vita Ovar. He began his career as a Site Manager and Lecturer at ISEIT University. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, French, Spanish, and Italian, has basic knowledge of Arabic, and is a senior member of the Portuguese Order of Engineers.
