Jorge Santos Carneiro is married, father of 3 children and has lived in Brazil for 10 years.
He holds a degree in business management from Universidade Portucalense and completed an MBA in international trade from ESADE. He studied leadership at INSEAD (COL – Challenge of Leadership) and more recently in the US at the Yale School of Management (YGELP). He was President of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Brazil (Britcham) for two terms and in 2019, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), an honor bestowed by Queen Elizabeth II. He worked at The Sage Groups Plc for 20 years, serving as president of the Portuguese operation, as a member of the board of Sage Spain and, from 2014 to 2020, as president of Sage Brazil and Latin America. In 2020, he acquired Sage’s operation in Brazil and transformed the company into IOB, a smart tech that unites content and technology for small and medium-sized companies and accounting offices. IOB has around 1,200 employees in Brazil and more than 130,000 customers.
He is a member of the Board of the UK Ambassador to Brazil and a member of the Board of Britcham.
He is a founding partner of Alpasion, a winery in Argentina. He is an investor in mainly technology and real estate companies in Portugal and Brazil.
Jorge Carneiro has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since December 2022.
