Marcelo Pereira holds a degree in Economics from the University of Coimbra and a master’s degree in European Economics from the Pontifical University Comillas in Madrid. He began his career in the banking sector, working at institutions such as Banco Luso-Espanhol, CGD, Finibanco, and Fincor, coordinating regional activities and founding the Deutsche Bank branch in Coimbra. He also held management positions at TCN Portugal and SAVEMUR and taught Management and Marketing at Universidade Internacional and the Business School of Coimbra.

He served as a City Councillor for Coimbra Municipality, responsible for Finance, Human Resources, and Administration, and chaired the Board of Directors of Águas de Coimbra.

Since 2014, he has held leadership roles in international companies, including CECASO, PETROWORKS/CIVICA, and, since 2020, as CEO of Oman International Hospital (OIH), transforming it into one of the largest private hospital units in the country and a benchmark for quality healthcare.

Throughout his career, he has provided strategic consulting in sectors such as banking, energy, real estate, healthcare, and sanitation, and has also been a speaker at international conferences on hospital management, healthcare innovation, and organizational development.

Marcelo Pereira has been Portugal’s World Advisor since September 2025.
