Maria Campelo was born in Porto, where she lived until the age of 22. She earned a degree in Economics from Faculdade de Economia do Porto and began her professional career as a trainee at NOS. She moved to Lisbon to pursue a Master in Management at Nova SBE, aiming to strengthen her education and gain a more global perspective on Management. As part of the Nova SBE program, she spent a semester at INSPER in São Paulo, complemented by an internship in the financial market.

In 2016, she joined Boston Consulting Group in São Paulo as an Associate and advanced in her career to become a Principal/Director, a role she currently holds. In 2021, she began her MBA at INSEAD.

Maria Campelo has been a Young Advisor at the Conselho da Diáspora Portuguesa since July 2024.
