Marta Henriques Pereira

She has over 20 years of international experience in diplomacy, governance, development, peace, and security. She has led public policy initiatives, human rights programs, and institutional reforms in fragile and post-conflict contexts, with direct involvement in five United Nations peacekeeping missions, four UN development agencies, and nine European Union deployments across five different regions. Through this work, she has gained extensive experience in multilateral, bilateral, and intercultural negotiations in complex environments.

A strong advocate of civic engagement, she is the founder and president of the NGOs Resposta Luso and REDE. She is also the creator and host of the Caminhos Globais podcast and a regular speaker at international events, including a TEDx talk in Funchal. She has held executive roles in private-sector start-ups, with a strong focus on international partnerships and social impact. Her expertise includes alternative dispute resolution, strategic fundraising, and cross-sector collaboration.

She holds a degree in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University, an LL.M. in Public International Law from Leiden University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in alternative dispute resolution at the University of Birmingham.
