Marta Mucznik is a Senior Analyst at the International Crisis Group, one of the world’s most recognized think tanks on the analysis and resolution of armed international conflicts. Based in Brussels, she monitors EU foreign and security policy and represents the Crisis Group with its institutions. A specialist in geopolitics and EU foreign policy, she has focused primarily on Europe’s response to the war in Ukraine, EU enlargement, and its implications for European security.

Throughout her career, Marta has dedicated herself to analyzing EU foreign policy, with a focus on various regions worldwide. She has lived and studied in Lisbon, Brussels, and Washington, DC, where she worked in think tanks, NGOs, diplomatic missions, and multilateral organizations.

Before joining the Crisis Group, she worked at the European Policy Centre, where she regularly analyzed and commented on European geopolitics. She also served as Adviser for Transatlantic Relations at the Permanent Representation of Portugal to the EU.

Marta Mucznik has been Portugal’s World Advisor since October 2025.
