Miguel Bengala is currently a PhD researcher at LMU Munich, in the field of Neuroscience. He focuses on investigating the neural mechanisms that allow us to separate and identify different sources of the sounds around us, a capacity that is profoundly affected in patients with auditory deficits.

His academic and professional trajectory has been marked by interdisciplinarity, excellence, and innovation. He has consistently sought to make significant contributions to society through the development of innovative work, building bridges across different fields of knowledge: from information technologies and machine learning to particle physics, from biomedical sciences to mathematical modeling. He completed his degree in Technological Physics Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico and conducted research projects at LIP Lisboa and at the Fundação Champalimaud.

Miguel Bengala has been a Young Advisor at the Conselho da Diáspora Portuguesa since July 2024.
