Duarte Marchand is a senior executive in the biopharmaceutical industry, currently serving as General Manager and Vice President of Mundipharma for Europe, the Middle East, and Brazil, where he leads a business representing approximately 50% of the company’s annual revenues. Based in Stockholm, he holds full P&L responsibility as well as oversight for commercial and operational strategy across multiple geographies.

Throughout his career, Duarte Marchand has held leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine and Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he served as Managing Director and General Manager for the Nordic markets. He has been recognized for leading business transformations, accelerating growth in areas such as immunology, oncology, neurosciences, and rare diseases, and ensuring the successful launch of innovative therapies with a strong focus on market access and commercial excellence.

Born in Évora, he began his professional career in Portugal in the consulting sector at IQVIA (formerly IMS Health). He holds a degree in Management from ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon and an MBA from INSEAD, and has extensive international experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.
