Salvador Luz is a jurist specializing in International Law and European Union Law, with a career marked by experience in prestigious European institutions.
He currently serves as a Legal Advisor at the Venice Commission, a Council of Europe body that provides constitutional legal advice to 61 countries. Previously, he was a Senior Lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights and an Associate Lawyer at Uría Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho and Sérvulo & Associados, working within their Public Law teams.
He also worked at the European Commission as a Bluebook Trainee in the Institutional Affairs Unit of the Secretariat-General, and began his career as a Trainee Lawyer at VdA – Vieira de Almeida & Associados, where he worked in the Banking & Finance and Public Law departments.
Academically, Salvador Luz holds an LL.M. in Public International Law and European Union Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he graduated with High Merit.
He earned his Law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon (FDUL), completing the program with an average grade of 16 out of 20 (Very Good).
Salvador Luz has served as a Young Advisor at the Portuguese Diaspora Council since June 2025.
