Tomás Furtado Lemos has a degree in molecular biology from the University of Lisbon and a master’s degree in management from Nova SBE. During his academic career and complementary experiences (internships and side projects), he realised that exploring the synergy between science and management could be the right direction for his professional career. At the same time, he realised that he had a penchant for international environments — during his master’s degree, he was part of a cohort of international students and also had the opportunity to study for one semester of his master’s degree in Milan.

In 2019, he began his professional career at GSK Portugal, after a highly competitive recruitment process, as a Future Leader Graduate in the consumer healthcare area, where he had the opportunity to hold three different commercial positions in just two years. His curiosity about working in a different country grew, and in 2021 he had the opportunity to join GSK Italy.

Tomás Furtado Lemos has been a Young Advisor on the Portuguese Diaspora Council since July 2024.
