Advisory Board Meeting – June 2023
On the 5th of June 2023, the Portuguese Diaspora Council (CDP) held a meeting of the Advisory Council – a body that supports the functioning of the CDP Board, but also encourages the development and proliferation of the Council’s activities.
The meeting took place in the Sala do Futuro, in the City Hall of Cascais, and was attended by several members of the Board and the Advisory Board. The various projects under development by the CDP were presented, as well as ambitions for the future, with several suggestions emerging from those present on how to foster a stronger connection between the Portuguese Diaspora and, consequently, contribute to a more cohesive, solid and united Portugal .
The meeting also had the brief presence of Hon. Mr Mayor of Cascais, Carlos Carreiras, whose close collaboration with the Portuguese Diaspora Council reflects the municipality’s desire to contribute to more and better Portugal.
After the meeting, the various members of the CDP present were received at a dinner at Palácio Albatroz, which was attended by the Hon. Madam Minister of Territorial Cohesion, Ana Abrunhosa.
The Advisory Board is closely linked to the EurAfrican Forum project, which will take place next July, on the 18th and 19th, at NOVA Business School, in Carcavelos.

On September 21, members of the CDP’s U.S. Regional Hub attended a reception for the President of Portugal, highlighting the country’s role on the international stage and fostering networking among the Portuguese community and UN representatives.
António Calçada de Sá and members of the CDP’s Spain Regional Hub attended the 25th anniversary celebration of the Nueva Economía Fórum in Madrid, presided over by King Felipe VI, where European Council President António Costa received the Fórum Europa 2025 Award.
