Alexandra Brandão has been Santander Group’s Head of Human Resources since September 2020, working at Santander’s headquarters in Madrid, Spain. She began her career in banking more than 20 years ago, working in various areas of business management, including investment banking, capital markets and retail and corporate banking, where she had responsibility for products and segments.

Her career has been enriched by significant experience in human resources, in Spain and Portugal, having previously led Santander’s Corporate University and been the group’s Global Director of Knowledge and Development and Director of Human Resources in Portugal.

Alexandra is also a member of the Board of Directors of Banco Santander in Uruguay, and a member of the Fundación Universia and Fundación Alfredo de Sousa trustees.

Alexandra has a degree in management from Nova SBE University and an International MBA from Deusto Business School (Spain) and Adolfo Ibáñez Business School (Chile).

Alexandra Brandão has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since January 2024.
