Inês Godet holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. During her PhD at Johns Hopkins University, she established a fluorescent mapping system that allowed tracking the fate of cancer cells experiencing intratumoral hypoxia as they metastasized in mouse models of breast cancer. She is currently a Researcher at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, focusing on metastasis-initiating cells in the context of lung cancer. With approximately 90% of cancer-related deaths attributed to metastasis, her career goal is to contribute to mitigating this lethal disease.

In parallel, Inês is a board member of the Portuguese American Postgraduate Society and co-founded HOPTEC, the official partnership between Johns Hopkins University and Instituto Superior Técnico.

Inês Godet has been a Young Advisor at the Conselho da Diáspora Portuguesa since July 2024.
