Inês Rocha is the IFC World Bank Group’s Regional Industry Director for Western Europe, Central and Eastern Europe, Ukraine, and Moldova, having joined IFC in May 2024.
Based in Paris, Inês plays a key role in supporting private sector investment and job creation across the region. She also leads IFC’s development efforts in Europe to mobilize capital and foster sustainable economic growth in emerging markets.
A dual Portuguese and British national, Inês has more than 20 years of experience in development banking. Before joining IFC, she worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) across several departments, including Treasury, Financial Institutions (with a focus on EU banks), Structured Finance, SME Finance and Development, and most recently as Managing Director for Impact and Partnerships. In that role, she was at the forefront of EBRD’s response to the crisis in Ukraine, working closely with donors, leading the Nuclear Safety team, as well as the Impact & Results unit and civil society engagement.
Inês has also worked in investment banking and at the Bank of Portugal, and holds a master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.
Inês Rocha has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since September 2023.
