Pedro Paulo Castro is currently Global CFO of Openbank by Santander, managing a team of 160 FTE and € 220 billion of Assets, having more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial services across European markets.

Previously, Pedro served as Global Head of DCM and Treasury at Santander Consumer Finance. His career also includes senior executive and CFO roles at Santander Consumer Finance in Portugal and Banque PSA Finance in the UK and France, with responsibilities spanning financial management, funding, capital planning and treasury.

Pedro has extensive international experience in corporate finance, capital markets, balance sheet management and strategic financial planning. He also holds a number of board appointments within Santander and non-executive roles outside the Group.

Degree in Economics from Universidade Lusíada de Lisboa, postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from ISCTE Business School, Master in Finance from Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics and participant in the Senior Executive Program of the London Business School.

Married, father of two daughters, he is also the author of the book Vontade de Ferro and founder of Run with Castro, a non-profit organization that supports social solidarity institutions through sport.

Pedro Paulo Castro has been a member of the Portuguese Diaspora Council since December 2022.
