Uría Menéndez and the Portuguese Diaspora Council promote event at the Portuguese Embassy in London
On September 25th, Uría Menéndez, in collaboration with the Portuguese Diaspora Council, held a significant event at the Portuguese Embassy in London, bringing together over 70 distinguished guests from the business and financial sectors.
The opening session featured speeches from the Portuguese Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Nuno Brito; the President of the Board of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, António Calçada de Sá; the Chairman of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, José Manuel Durão Barroso; and Uría Menéndez partner, Carlos Costa Andrade. During their speeches, they highlighted the importance of the historical cooperation between Portugal and Spain and emphasized the numerous opportunities this collaboration continues to provide, both in the business realm and for professionals from both countries.
Characterized by an informal atmosphere, the event offered an excellent opportunity for strengthening networking among Portuguese and Spanish professionals operating in the United Kingdom. The President of the Board, António Calçada de Sá, also took the opportunity to reinforce the mission and objectives of the Portuguese Diaspora Council, highlighting the importance of the Council in promoting Portugal and its diaspora worldwide. The impact of this address was evident, with several participants expressing interest in joining the Council.
Another highlight of the event was the presentation of the Young Counselor in the United Kingdom, who had the opportunity to interact with the other Counselors from the Regional Group.
The event proved to be impactful, contributing to the strengthening of ties between the business communities of Portugal and Spain in the United Kingdom.
