António Horta Osório distinguished in EUA

The Diaspora Counselor was awarded with the Foreign Policy Association medal for its international career developed in many countries, as well as the work on the expansion of the public knowledge of international economic and financial issues.

Foreign Policy Association is a north-american nonpartisan organization, whose work focus on public education and international issues. Based in New York, the organization awards international prominent figures. On the list of distinguished people are personalities such as the president of the chamber of New York, Michael Bloomberg, the president of the Federal Reserve of New York, Timothy Geithner, or the former president of the European Central Bank, Jean-Claude Trichet.

António Horta Osório is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lloyds bank, that delivered results last month. The net profit of the group has increased 24% to 4.400 million pounds (5.064 million euros) in 2018, comparing to 2017. The strong strategic plan offset the reduction of 35,4% on the revenues, to 22.091 million pounds (25.426 million euros).

At the time, the Portuguese stated that 2018 “was a strong year on a strategic and financial level” and important for the bank consolidation on the digital world, after the third phase application on his strategical plan, that predicts an investment greater that 3.000 million pounds (3.453 million euros). “We recorded one more year with profit increase, as well as the strengthening of capital, and as a result we suggested to recommend higher dividends to investors”, explained.
