The President of the Republic chaired, in Madrid, a dinner jointly organized by the Hispano-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Portuguese Diaspora Council, attended by 170 Portuguese and Spanish businessmen and managers from the most diverse sectors of the economy.
President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa was received by the President of both organisations, António Calçada de Sá. At this event at the end of April 25th, the Head of State made an intervention on the current relations between Portugal and Spain, in the current national and international context, and answered questions from participants about the challenges of Democracy and Freedom in Europe and in the world , as well as the role of Portuguese-speaking communities in promoting the country’s image and attracting investment to Portugal.

At the Summer Meeting, held on 17 July at the Palácio Cidadela, the Portuguese Diaspora Council had the pleasure of presenting in detail the Regional Hubs of the Diaspora to the other Councillors present, physically and virtually.
