We mark a moment of particular relevance for the Portuguese Diaspora Council.

On April 15, the Chairman of the Board, António Calçada de Sá, was received in a private audience by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr António José Seguro, in what was the first audience with the new Head of State.

This meeting provided an opportunity to present, in a structured manner, the work developed by the Portuguese Diaspora Council, as well as ongoing projects and the strategic vision for the future. It was with great satisfaction that a strong institutional alignment was confirmed, along with a clear recognition of the role of the Portuguese Diaspora as a strategic asset for the country.

This alignment reinforces the Council’s mission: to mobilize talent, knowledge, and global networks to strengthen Portugal’s presence in the world.

We continue, with ambition and a sense of responsibility, to work towards a stronger, more relevant and more visible diaspora, but also one that is more useful, more plural, and more transformative.
